What you see when a job arrives

Where, how much, and whether you collect. Then you decide.

When an operator sends you a job you get a notification and, opening it, everything you need to decide in a few seconds.

  • The pick-up point, with how far away you are and how long you would take
  • The destination, with the estimated distance and time
  • How many people there are and the notes from whoever took the call
  • The cost of the job and, underneath, what you take
  • Whether the passenger pays in the car or whether the job is on account

The big figure is the cost of the job, that is what the customer has to pay: it is the only one you will have to say out loud. What you take sits underneath, smaller, because you need it once, now, to decide whether to accept.

You have a limited time to answer: once it runs out the request goes to somebody else. Refusing costs you nothing and counts against you in no way: a job that does not suit you is better refused straight away than accepted and left half done.

The passenger’s number appears only once you have accepted, and it is there so you can ring them if you cannot find the address. Anybody who refuses a job sees nobody’s number.
