Roles and permissions

Who sees the money and who can change it.

An operator is not one person. Every member of staff has their own sign-in and a role, and the role decides what they can do. Who took which call and who assigned which job stays on record.

A controller typically takes the requests, chooses the drivers and sees the prices. Two things are kept separate, though, because they allow money to be moved on a single job without going through the settings:

  • Writing a price by hand, outside any fare
  • Applying a booking fee different from the one configured
They are also different from being able to change the fares themselves: changing a fare touches every future job, writing a price by hand touches that job and nothing else. Two different powers, two different permissions.
